Electricity is so cheap in the Nordics that it attracts industry. Industry always has impacts, environmental and otherwise. ICT has been thoughtful of efficiencies and consumption but that seems to be changing with some end-use sectors such as AI and crypto-mining.

I was in a van with a few others racing across the pitch dark landscape near Tromso looking for the Aurora. In Feb. Inky. I see a glow it got brighter like a Sun on Earth. A house. Every single light incl landscaping, the barn. “ What the heck?” Guide “ It was almost free once but its going up”
