There's a couple things - I think almost no Dem is demanding Biden's resignation. A withdrawal from the reelection campaign, somewhat similar to LBJ, would still be complicated, but not as problematic.

I agree that wouldn’t be as problematic as resigning, but this is very different than LBJ. He announced he wasn’t running at the end of March. We’re 4 months from the election. LBJ was wildly unpopular because of Vietnam, and he had a pretty obvious successor in RFK.
