I've been reading the power broker, and it's very interesting. Robert Caro makes mention of reformers in the 60s saying: Manhattan was developed by Robert Moses on incorrect principles, that are too late to undo. Because, because a liberal simply cannot uproot skyscrapers to make local schools.

It's interesting, Downtown & Midtown Manhattan is walkable but flawed. It's like they couldn't actually bulldoze it for the car but they did as well as they could. When Bk, Bx, & Q had areas bulldozed and six lane highways put through, blighting the towns, the liberals feel it cannot be undid
