A nugget I found while researching for a @csmonitor.bsky.social article: detached single-family homes use TWICE as much energy on A/C than apartments in buildings with 5+ units.

Dense urban environments are better for the climate, especially in extreme heat. 🧪

I have an apartment living friend in a major city who usually has her thermostat off in the winter - so much heat coming off of her neighbors' apartments.
