YES, THIS. I was at a soccer game on Tuesday, Canadian legend Christine Sinclair’s last international game/retirement, and the stadium was PACKED with girls/teens/young women (attendance more than 48k) and it was a VIBE being in the room while they celebrated their idol. 1/2

I heard on an episode of Marketplace that this woman in Seattle opened a woman sports only restaurant and bar, and she thought that it would take years to make a profit. It took months. It was immediately successful. Women and their daughters pack it every night. She’s looking at franchising.

I’ve been to a lot of soccer games and never experienced anything as cool as that. At one point during the match, seemingly by unspoken consensus, everyone just started turning on their phone flashlights. It was like suddenly everyone decided “time for fairy lights” and it was beautiful.
