I’m honestly not sure which of those goals you don’t see as harder to do under a fascist strongman, but I guess I’ll just be jealous of the lived experience necessary to support that nonchalance about the threat.

I see it as a distinction without a difference. If Trump is going permit a lawless court, and Biden is going to say he doesn't like it but not do anything about it, then we have the same outcome. Same with the genocide. A house of Congress can at least serve as a brake on a fascist strongman.
