I spent some time thinking about how agencies interpret rules that often have a cost for businesses. Of course, those costs are usually for a reason, and often I am personally the beneficiary. The FDA, the FAA, the CFPB, the SEC, the OCC, the SSA, the IRS, the USDA, the FTC, the PTO.

These are all acronyms, but they have meaning. Their agencies have responsibilities filled with experts and are critical to governing an increasingly complex world. But now business has the reins. Business that only cares that I live so long as I consume.
