Every time I see the use of "Revisionism" I cringe. Americans in general are asinine ignoramuses.¹ Thus the word is slowly being redefined in a similar manner of gray/grey. Revisionism's actual definition is when experts examine something is revise it for correctness. 1/x

An example would be when history is adjusted to be more accurate as well. But individuals use Revisionism to describe it being rewritten for nefarious reasons. That is actually called "Historical Negationism". --- ¹ No fault of their own. Intentional via government.

This is half correct. Revisionism doesn't actually state the reasons for the revision. Which is why Historical Negationism or Denialism is a specific form of it. It is a problem that Negationists try to use Revisionism to launder their illegitimate revisions, but the nuance matters.
