Also Imrahil is a relatively minor character but if you subscribe to the interpretation that LotR-the-book is an in-world historical text he would be the sort of person you’d want to be sure you wouldn’t overlook.

Imrahil’s immediate liking for Aragorn also makes a hell of a lot of sense when you recall that the Corsair fleet (you know, the one Aragorn “borrowed”) had probably raided his coasts once or twice (Umbar and Dol Amroth must have been trade partner-frenemies for a good long while)
