So I keep finding new features in Clip Studio that I never knew about because the app is kind of vast, and here's one thing I found recently that I want to share because it might save y'all some time with flatting & shading.🧵
The default setting for the gradient tool is to create a rasterized, non-editable gradient on the layer you're editing. If you go into Tool Properties and change it to "create gradient layer," it creates a NEW layer for the gradient. BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE
Thank you so much for the tip! I primarily use Clip Studio for drawing my RPG maps. Gradients as overlays are a nice way to make things more interesting such with repeating textures.
