A new study looked at people who discontinued medical transition and found something obvious to anyone with half a brain: DISCONTINUATION IS NOT THE SAME AS DETRANSITION. 80 percent of those who discontinued treatments still identified as trans. 37 percent said they wished they never discontinued.

Legit the NHS has been doing their best to make me discontinue treatment ever since I started hrt. Pretty sure if I hadn’t managed to leave the gic and to move to a more supportive gp surgery, they’d have forced me off meds and be citing me as statistical evidence transitioning is bad!

it's so frustrating because us trans people had been saying that for years if not decades, that they can't fluff up detransition numbers with the percentage that ends up retransitioning later once they're in a safer place
