Do not use ANYTHING tied to the big 5 for true security. Also, PGP with your own mail server or Proton Mail or Tutanota for anything sensitive.

My friend really pushed me to use Whatsapp. I don't see how it is different from texting so I deleted it. I'm not on FB, insta, threads. Come to find out she has meta stock, lol.

WhatsApp is much better than SMS or Telegram, as it uses the Signal protocol. This is one of the biggest wins of the Signal team TBH: getting E2EE deployed to Billions of people. But the client app is controlled by Meta, so it's fair to assume your data there may end up linked to the Meta datapool.
