I just don't want people to let their guard down. If Trump kicked it before November? Yeah, they're fucked for the next 4 years They've worked for decades to destroy democracy and they're not going to stop. A Republican setback is only good if we can convince people to take the threat seriously.

We need dems to win in november and for once to go "ok, this didn't solve everything, we need to keep working" Instead of the usual "ok we solved this single problem we are perfect now let us go back to playing respectability politics for 4 years"

also their general ability to be horrible with no consequences isn't dependent on their avatar of hate, it's just all been normalized.. I think they would take a hit without someone to coalesce behind and the other would-be replacements have no juice at all, but we'll all still be soaking in it
