As someone who speaks English as a 2nd langauge, do you know how much mental bandwidth it takes to monitor your own speech for mistakes on the fly?

I'm a native speaker and I don't have a stutter and I misspeak ALL the time. I also only speak the one language so anyone that can speak more than one automatically gets more patience
