“Pitching tents in public places is violence” is an interesting line of reasoning to follow as climate change and rising rents displace more people, as cities grow increasingly aggressive about criminalizing their homeless populations, and as more climate and war refugees arrive.

I talked about this on Episode 1 of @losingourmindspod.bsky.social. Prison populations too are at greater risk! And the criminalization of homelessness as well as the barriers to reentry to the job market after release mean these populations overlap a lot. www.patreon.com/posts/100739...

Yes. Your perspective sees very much past what we see on the major TV news broadcasts. Housing is tremendously expensive NOW! It may cause crime to get much worse in spurts in many areas. I will not be surprised. Greed by the UltraWealthy is a huge factor in the homelessness.

When liberals consider something like simple destruction of property as violence then I don't see a reason why something like obstructing a thoroughfare, negatively affecting a home price, or tarnishing an institution's image wouldn't be either.
