mtv used to be great, you'd put it on and watch a video by echo and the bunnymen, then see a small cartoon based on a charles burns comic, then another video. maybe a good one! now it is just rob dyrdek's 24/7 distressed asset marathon
One of the most important people who made MTV cool long ago moved on to other networks. Fred Siebert was key to signature eras of MTV, Nickelodeon & Cartoon Network. You'd think he'd be the kind of person no media conglomerate would ever, ever let go, but nope. Hard to replace & it shows.
