When my father died, I went to confession for the first time in a long time. I told the priest I couldn't understand why someone like my dad, a repentant sinner who spent half his life trying to atone for his philandering and addiction, was dead and so many bad people lived. I wanted THEM to die...

All these people who seemed to occupy their time with hurting everyone they could. I wanted them dead. I was praying for it. The priest told me hoping for the deaths of others, rejoicing in them, was bad for the soul. And I believed him. I still believe. But I want so many of these people to die.
