From where I'm sitting, it looks like SCOTUS is trying to revive the Lochner era (1897-1937) when court doctrine struck down most attempts to regulate the economy. Just note that this coincides to a time when the labor movement had its fastest and most militant growth.

We also have widespread, undemocratic repression at the state level, and should Trump be reelected the same will happen at the federal level, which brings to mind the crackdowns that occurred during Wilson's presidency. It's not a 1:1 comparison of course.
