Bach’s relentless schedule of composing a new cantata every week means that the manuscript shows characteristic signs of being written in great haste. The corrosive iron-gall ink has eaten away at the paper in a few places, particularly where notes have been corrected or amended.

Nevertheless, it has been exceptionally well cared for and is one of the best-preserved autographs of J.S. Bach.
