Me: the mount system in Horizon is cool, but honestly mounts themselves are often a bit clunky so I won’t use it much Me after Wings Of The Ten: FUCK YES ptero-mount I’m never getting off this thing

Same. In games like this, I will run forever. I think I spent *maybe* five minutes total in five years on a horse in Breath of the Wild. Horizon was a little bit more because I kind of enjoyed sneaking up and hacking things in general, but mounts never feel right. Rather fast travel.

I always try to do side missions as much as possible to make sure I don’t miss things but the unfortunate effect is sometimes I get to things like *a flying mount* like 20 levels later than the devs intended

To me the mounts felt kind of antithetical to their own game design, because you would get on it, move 10 meters, find something you need to take care of, dismount, do the thing, get back on the mount, move another 10 meters, and just rinse and repeat. It was often just faster to not get on it.
