At least the Australians have democracy sausages. We get to shuffle around a school gym and then go home to watch the CBC coverage and try not to fall asleep. Our biggest tradition is watching the election be largely decided by the time the polls close in BC.

I am a new Australian and the only “election” I’ve voted in was the Voice referendum and it was 1) depressing and 2) sausageless. I am psyched for my democracy sausage next time.
