David French made exactly that point over on Threads. Problem is it's difficult to get Congress to do very much, and it's been like that for at least 40 years, which is why so much power defaulted to the Executive branch in the first place. Somebody *Has* to regulate stuff.

French is right. 1. no regulatory power is better than what the Trump orbit is currently planning on doing with it. 2. we're not in a position where there is no longer regulatory power. 3. part of the path to Congress being a functional branch of government again is forcing it to *legislate.*
