I said yes, and he said he was glad, because he'd been doing the reading and he knew that things were tough for people like me. And we talked about it. I used to be so afraid to come out to my Dad. Comments he'd made, you know the kind of thing. And he still gets a lot wrong.

But he's changed, for the better. He gets that there is a thing to get. People can change. A better future is possible and bridges can be built. Sometimes, faith in another is rewarded, and oh, the beauty in such a thing. Happy third Monday in May, everyone.
