as a democrat i refuse to hand wins to the republicans by making a martyr of trump or bypassing traditional checks and balances that will make it easy to call us authoritarian. i prefer to hand wins to the republicans by doing all their policy goals for them

Well yeah. If it's a Democratic President doin' genocide, letting abortions get banned, jailin' kids, and having the First Lady run the show, then it's so much easier to pretend there is still a democracy to preserve.
