So far... We once had one going off for two weeks before the police had it towed away. Presumably under threat of somebody blowing it up.

Oof. Never had that with a car, but I did once have a neighbour go on holiday for a fortnight only for his burglar alarm to go off the following night. Normally those are set to stop after an hour or so, but his wasn't. Someone got the police to break in 3 days later, which was kinda ironic.
