This behavior makes more sense when modern Evangelical "love" for Israel is viewed through the lens of a farmer's love for their livestock. Support for Israel is how they can bootstrap the end times. Israeli conquest into predominantly or entirely Muslim areas they see as a beneficial side-effect.
