I know there are so many people that don't want gas-fueled cars to go away, but it's great to see companies realize that like tobacco sales, gas sales are going to keep slowing overall in the years to come. Could convenience stores become new third-places?

The most important component of a "third place" is that you don't have to spend money. So no, 7-eleven will not become a third place
