It’s important to speak up against transphobia, not because you might change the hearts and minds of bigots, but to signal to them and everyone else in the room that their bigotry is not tolerated *and* yo be in solidarity with any trans folks or loved ones of trans folks who might be in the room.

It’s to drown them out, to make them feel like THEY are the minority, and to make them uncomfortable expressing their bigotry. And the less she share their bigoted views, the less other bigots feel like expressing. It’s a virtuous cycle!
