"I don't think anyone can be an autism expert per se. Every autistic person, if you let them, will add to your knowledge. And you are unlikely to be exposed to so many autistic people that you could ever begin to claim expertise.

However, having some level of autism knowledge as developed by learning from the autistic population is different from claiming expertise. I was in the right places at the right times; thank you to everyone who has helped me gain any semblance of autism knowledge Beardon 2023 2/2
