Unironically the same sort of “rapture” mentality if the theocratic right, don’t need to do anything now because the big thing will come eventually and there will be justice! (but you have to believe harder!)

And "winning the hearts of the populace" inevitably manifests as "playing hard to get". They're not here to persuade you towards the light. Hell, they'll browbeat you if you exhibit undue skepticism or lack of ardor. The mountain must come to Mohammed.
