There's pros and cons, I'm honestly used to them. A fox 1 missile will never acquire a false contact without user error, because it's being guided by the mothership and its IFF. Also, outside of the US where fox 1 development is still ongoing, they tend to have MUCH longer ranges than Fox 3s.
