And we have to think about who is ultimately benefitting from apps like Spotify; you may fell like you have more variety at your fingertips, just like shopping at Amazon. Next time you talk about little bricks and mortar business going under, imagine artists feeling the same squeeze, to survive.

Indeed. I used to buy vinyl from Small Wonder Records, Cherry Red Records and Rough Trade. Obviously those labels don’t exist any more but I know that Pete at Small Wonder would sign small artists a 50:50 proceeds deal (he paid costs up front). Even first pressing 1000 albums got them out there.
