Today; On June 12, 1929, Anne Frank was born in Frankfurt, Germany. His diaries were found by Miep Gies, who helped him hide them during the war. The memories would later turn into "Diary of a Young Girl" and would forever change the world's perspective on World War II.

Many many years after I’d read the book I learned a family secret: my great g’mother came through Ellis island between the wars. She was Jewish & once arriving in US she converted to Christianity. She’d been long dead when i learned this little bit of history & how badly she wanted it hidden.
