There were some bright spots, certainly. Some great Bruce Sterling and William Gibson pieces, for instance. Rossetto, the founding editor, was an Ayn Rand republican. Much of Silicon Valley was more communitarian, including a lot of the writers. Wired had gotten better, SV has gotten worse.

Until the recent-ish fire everyone because stock must go up, they were doing good work. (I'm happy to support folks like 404) Is your time trudging through the slime for a book, a paper, or because you just hate life?
