I’m wondering if the term Christianists would work better than Christofascists which sounds a bit unhinged whereas Christianist sounds like Islamist.

Christianist is something I use when describing the philosophy. And definitely there are many parallels between both traditions. Many far right Christians explicitly admire sharia.
