For April Fools' Day, I was going to suggest a ridiculous CO₂ removal (CDR) method but everything I’ve come up with has already been proposed as a real solution.
I did that once & for catapulting dry ice into space, neglecting friction, The energy required to get 1 KG of dry ice to earth escape velocity (11.2km.s) is 63MJ

This is a novelty. We could extract the CO₂ from the atmosphere and use it to improve puffiness in muffins. Then we could send them to Mars or somewhere farther.
While this process may generate more CO₂ than it removes, it mirrors inertial confinement fusion, which receives substantial funding
