Yesterday would have been the 80th Anniversary of D-Day, but oceanographers and our ability to make predictions called for a one-day delay. This ensured that the landings were a success. 🧪

a few years ago Munk said that addressing climate change and eliminating fossil fuel use would require efforts on the scale of D-Day, noting that "we did that once" (I'm paraphrasing)

I would add American meteorologist Irving P. Krick to the decision. His methods were historical data & what had happened in the past. Controversial but correct. Grew up w/his forecasting tools in 50s & 60s.
