Thankfully, the motorcyclist seemed to survive. I don’t know the extent of his injuries, but he was conscious afterward. I can't imagine the shock he's in.

From where I stood the driver was clearly at fault: He made an illegal turn at one of SF's most dangerous intersections (Market and Octavia). And he left the scene after a few minutes — while the motorcyclist was still on the ground and before police arrived. I reported it as a hit-and-run.
