I believe you can turn it off, and it's supposed to be opt in not opt out. Also according to them all the data is supposed to be stored locally. God's only know how much space that will take.

Was told it starts at min 256gb but can be scaled up to increase the history capacity, else it will just overwrite old files when it is full. Can confirm that Microsoft *said* it will only run locally but I don't really trust them and even if I did it feels like a privacy and security vulnerability.
