Looks like a nice boat. Can't understand why it's empty except maybe because Vermont has no seaport, or ocean front. It would be a nice two hour cruise on Lake Champlain if they could portage it in.

My three sons, now 39, 21, and 18, all gave me their love and gratitude and cards yesterday. #3 son, who came to our family via Guatemala, won this year's inscription contest with, "I'm proud to call you my father even if people think I'm the hispanic help." For the next year he will be #1 son.

It's been reported to me by more than one source that their Dads have said, "Do you think I'm Tom Bodett?" or "Do you think you're Tom Bodett?" I leave lights on in my own house to give my family the pleasure of saying some stupid version of that. Just part of the service around here.

This is true, only it wasn't me who worried about career implications. I thought it was hilarious. Cooler heads at Motel 6 decided being the harbinger of Bill Murray's tired daily hellscape would not be helpful. Sonny and Cher received the honor and the beat goes on...
