It feels like Sega tried to squeeze a Fall Guys-esque mode into Sonic Superstars and also into Banana Rumble and also they’re developing that Sonic Fall Guys clone for phones, and it’s like, is Fall Guys even that popular right now?

It’s a silly internet video series where toilets with human heads popping out of them sing a nonsensical song, and I think they’re trying to take over the world, but some guys with cameras for heads are fighting against them. It honestly doesn’t seem worse than the nonsense I grew up watching online

If you have an early release of the Switch, you can hack it with a dang paperclip and run emulators on it right now! I got all of the Retro Achievements in Sonic Advance playing that way.

I do know about all the little handheld emulator Linux/Android devices out there (I have some lovely little Anbernics), I’m itchin’ for something that can play Windows PC games with mods and whatnot, and I can get dumb Steam achievements with.

I kinda wish there was a budget low tech version of the Steam Deck. Something that can just play stuff like Animal Well, Sonic Mania, Meat Boy, emulators for older systems (the sort of stuff I’d mostly spend my time playing on a Steam Deck if I had one)

They feel good to me, though I’m not enough of an expert Monkey Ball player to say if they’re any different from Banana Mania. Anecdotally it seems like the Monkey Ball enthusiasts I follow on Twitter are liking the controls in this.

My main criticism of Super Monkey Ball: Banana Rumble is the same criticism I have about modern Mario games. To get to the fun, challenging stuff, you need to slog through a bunch of boring, easy stuff first!

That new Monkey Ball game is pretty fun! I'll always prefer the surreal/weird aesthetic of the originals over the more cutesy direction the series went, but fwiw this game succeeds at being very cute. Aiai is wearing little overalls with a butt design sewn in!
