What is clear is that many of the people that want Joe Biden replaced want Donald J Trump elected

They have been told about Ballot Access issues time and again, they don't care if Democrats are not elected

There is a lot of "if Biden can't serve after getting elected, we will have Kamala Harris as President" and not in a supportive way for the first female President The Mini Primary solves that problem for them because it will replace both Joe Biden and Kamala Harris I don't trust the motives

What is clear is that if Joe Biden is replaced so is Kamala Harris The people talking Mini Primary want to replace both of them 1st There are at least 4 states where the replacements won't be on the Ballot 2nd If they remove Kamala Harris, there is going to be backlash, many will be to upset to vote

Many knew, FDR contacted Polio in 1922. When elected President in 1932, he had been crippled for 10 years. FDR got the USA out of the depression in his first 2 terms. His 3rd and 4th terms were devoted to fighting the Fascists in the USA and overseas

Read up on AD/RD, ageism, and incumbency. These topics are highly relevant right now. And I've happened to have worked as a writer for experts in all three topics. So may I gently suggest y'all listen a little more? Thanks.

At this crucial moment (just like 2016, I might add) the political press failed. Do not reward their failure. Ignore them for your own mental health, if not for any other reason.

Final thought: STOP LISTENING TO THE POLITICAL PRESS They do not have your best interests at heart, full stop. They want to make money off your fear. They're too ignorant to even have a survival instinct--do they think they won't be targeted in a Trump dictatorship?

In sum, folks calling to replace Biden are both wrong on the cognitive science *and* the history. I get it. They're afraid. We're all worried. We often don't make smart choices when we're scared. Let's pause, take a breath, look at the science and expert analyses, instead.

I don't like the policies of the Reagan era, but the nation survived I detest defending that administration--but why is there a different standard for Democrats? Especially when a Trump dictatorship is at stake? Makes zero sense. And Biden is much better shape than the Gipper.

Here's another example. Some of you should be old enough to remember this. Even in 1984 there were already stories about Reagan's very real cognitive decline. Did his party abandon him? No. Reagan won in a landslide in 1984 and governed well enough that voters rewarded his party by electing Bush.

Did the electorate abandon him in this crucial moment when the US could snuff out Hitler's Third Reich? No, they did not. If you're talking "replace Biden" now, I have a question: why are you so much weaker than voters in 1944? Would you have handed over the White House to the America Firsters?

In 1944, the US was in the middle of a life-and-death conflict with rising fascism in Europe and Japan. FDR already hid his disability from the US audience, but by this time, his health was seriously failing him. He had about a year of life left.

Reason 4 *wearing my history hat* This is not a new situation. The US has had many presidents who have been in real decline or been perceived as being in decline. Most of those incumbents were supported by the electorate. Here's, I think, the most appropriate example:

Reason 3 *wearing both hats* Ageism is rife in US culture. It causes real harm. One of my most recent publications was with experts in how ageism causes harm. For people to double down when I tell them this is both ignorant of scientific findings and unconscionable. Please get a hold of yourselves.

Moreover, there are fairly clear signs when AD/RD emerges in a patient. None of which are present in Biden--who, by the way has been checked.

Reason 2 *wearing my science writer hat* AD/RD is an absolutely heartbreaking diagnosis for families and caregivers. Millions of families suffer, mostly in silence. Throwing around cognitive decline for political reasons deeply disrespects patients and families.

Reason 1 *wearing my US political history hat* Incumbency is a fundamental advantage for all political candidates, including presidents. Only a small handful of incumbents lost. The vast majority won. So right away, I see a signal of historical ignorance when I see people proposing Biden step down.

Folks, I may have a PhD in history-including US politics history-but the last several years I’ve been working in public health as a science writer. One of my areas of focus is Aging, including Alzheimer’s and related dementias (AD/RD). I find the discourse around Biden really troubling.

The Unions know that you can't replace Joe Biden and Kamala Harris and win the 2024 elections Replacing Joe Biden is choosing to not have a Presidential or VP candidate on the ballot in at least 4 states Effectively, the Democratic Party would be conceding the election to Donald Trump

Some "Democrats" are like Joe Lieberman. He got "ran for VP while a Democrat" on his resume but also has "nominated John McCain for President" It's about resume material, not actually doing a job Biden is about doing the job

The whole legal system is reluctant to punish rape. As you say unless there is bodily harm. The question of doubt is always extended to the male. And that's even with law that says that previous sexual behaviour by the woman can't be used in court. But, this is why women don't have children
