How about applying this to journal metrics. New journal IF = IF / (avrg # 'novel' per published paper) ... or better multiply? [PS. This post should not be seen in support of a biased IF system, rather then a sarcastic comment on a potential opportunity to further idiotacrise it]

Yes, have been there. Also license key files from software vendors you have paid to send you their licenses were blocked in my case, but all the 'I hope that email finds you well, esteemed professor wrongly spelled surname' were there

'This resonates so well with me'. Nach fast 8.5 Jahren in England - durch Brexit und Covid - kann ich das Alles zu 100% unterschreiben. Auch der Fakt, dass man als Außenstehender wirklich ein paar Jahre braucht, um zu sehen wie die alte Klassengesellschaft immer noch überall allgegenwärtig ist.

I am actually offering a test this year in my group. You can ask for up to 5 days of focus time in advance, then you can hand over important meeting duties to team members and cancel others, turn your email off (including an out of office reply) and spend these days on one key problem of your choice
