He has very good care at UC Davis, they have a specialized burn center there. It was just a freak thing, the Captain said same thing would have happened to anyone. Up in hill country nothing is level and holes everywhere.

They're getting very good with data / geo-location. You can watch the tanker planes and helos going to and from the sites to the closest lake / reservoir. Some of the country is just brutal. Kid is stationed in Arnold, just nasty country, all canyons.

Right in Mariposa, the French Fire. Luckily only about 1,000 acres, mostly contained now. Cal-Fire is very active around there, youngest is a new Cal-Fire firefighter so I track the fires.

I'm in red/purple CA, it does matter locally for congress. We have a MAGAt congressman, John Duarte, absolute dumbass tool. Just south of me is dead red Fresno/Bakersfield. Nunes/McCarthy country. All three districts are owned by big ag / oil money.
