A new study published in Current Biology, "Oceanic #Seabirds Chase Tropical Cyclones," reveals that the rare Desertas Petrels (Pterodroma deserta), exhibit unique foraging behaviours during hurricane season, chasing rather than avoiding tropical cyclones.

Philippine Collared-Dove (Streptopelia dusumieri). Declining in their home range (Philippines), but quite common in villages of the Northern Mariana Islands where they were introduced sometime in the 1700s. Now considered naturalized, they're charming & sort of goofy with their hoarse calls 🎨🪶🐡🌎

Yesterday I had a scare. I'd lost the original layered PSD file for this piece (click/tap to embiggify). Turned out the file was compressed along with everything else into an archive of the 2018 art show it debuted. So everything's fine. Whew.

Inprnt is all right, but it doesn't have all the fun printing options that redbubble and society 6 had. Since moving to inprnt myself I've really missed being able to print things like t-shirts, pillows, and other silly stuff. Just a heads up in case that's a factor!

Before I head back to Rota, I will be on Saipan for a few days. Canario here (Golden White-eye) is an endangered species found only on Saipan and Aguijan, though it probably was also on Tinian and Rota in the past. Their thrush-like habits and songs are very unlike most other white-eyes. 🎨🪶🐡🌏

I needed to double check snake related deaths per year in North America and the AI right at the top all colorful and purple said 5000 deaths. I KNOW that isn't true. But there is no reason someone else should. Ppl will take the shortest path to an answer, especially if it looks correct.
