Today I read Gilgamesh II by Jim Starlin, Steve Oliff and Todd Klein. It’s really good. Starlin’s art is fantastic, and the story, a loose reinterpretation of the “Epic of Gilgamesh”, is one of the best Starlin’s written.

Rest in Peace Joel Carroll. He was a kind friend, and an amazing artist. I still remember when he sent me this drawing of my dog Juniper after she had passed away. I will miss him.

I finally read Superman: The Secret Years today. Bob Rozakis, Curt Swan, and Kurt Schaffenberger deliver a great story of Superboy becoming Superman in his college years. Frank Miller provided four gorgeous covers for the series. If you see this in a back issue bin, buy it!

I just watched The Last Stop in Yuma County and it is the best crime thriller I've seen in years. The tension in this film is so thick that you can cut it with a Japanese steel kitchen knife.
