I think most of these bad-faith arguments are motivated by the fact that they, the owners, drive to work, and don’t want to pay a toll/give up parking, etc

When we were little, in the early 1970s, my mom drove the three of us to Vermont for this, spent the night in the "way back" of our Volvo, and all my life I've joked about how austere the bread was. There was also a nasty burr fight amongst the kids back then, but I guess that's not a tradition.

This is so good. Murmur to Automatic bookend my 20s, I played every record on release, and though I was more punk at the start and rap at the end of that decade, spending an hour just now reading everyone and listening to everything... it's all so evocative of that time in my life. So many feelings.
