WBD's stock price has tanked ~78% since David Zaslav was announced as CEO— $32.68 on 05/19/21 to $7.32, today— to say nothing of the brand loyalty, goodwill, & creative talent he's destroyed. It is amazing & genuinely horrifying that anyone could fail this badly, & remain in a position of authority

Indeed. That $250 is the same minimum fine for someone caught littering one cigarette butt in LA. I couldn't find whether or not that those trees died because they got sun-baked and starved at the same time, but that "fine" is beyond ridiculous.

This reminded me to circle back to whether or not Universal Studios got punished for cutting all the branches off of the trees near their studio so that striking writers would not have any shade. Good news: The studio was found responsible Bad news: They were fined $250

The fee for malfeasance that killed at least 346 people is.... 3% of annual annual profits ($7.6 B total) .3% of total annual revenue ($76B total) Or about $700k per negligent death. This isn't a deterrent; it's a fucking steal. Boeing will put it on their balance sheets and then change nothing.
