These Challenges have Barnacle & Dime as one of their stages because they are tie-ins with Splatoon 3 events that will take place at shopping malls in Japan. And yes, the random gear abilities Challenge description has an awkward translation. I had to check how it works in-game.

Nintendo will be distributing a QR code for Splashtag titles at in-person events located at 19 Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaporte locations and LAZONA Kawasaki Plaza.
The game has no support for this yet.

[Splatoon 3] An update to SplatNet 3 has added support for QR codes that give Splashtag titles. However, game version 8.0.0 doesn't have any titles that can be distributed via QR code. An error message for attempting to redeem a QR code early was also added. (thanks Samuel)

When it launched, Nintendo made a commitment to keep spare parts for repairs in stock for up to 6 years after the end of manufacturing.
Nintendo ceased Wii U production in 2017 and stopped stocking parts in 2023.

Last year and the year before that, we had difficulties in acquiring semiconductor components, which led to us not being able to produce enough hardware. This situation has now been resolved. We don't expect parts shortages to affect production of the Switch successor. 2/2
