I was having a hard time getting into that game, but it finally clicked with me once I got lost, and after wandering a few screens ran into Ookayakakumukuku The Well Dressed - a legendary albino ape wearing a cape, sandals, and gorilla-skin gloves who kindly pointed me in the right direction.

under this definition, I think(?) these games are DEFINITELY megasims: - Streets of Fortuna - Dwarf Fortress - Crusader Kings 3 - Mount and Blade these are debatably megasims: - Manor Lords - Caves of Qud - Project Zomboid these are not: - Kenshi - The Sims what do you think?

ok so what IS a megasim? our suggestion v1 a la Streets of Fortuna/Dwarf Fortress: - large number of individually simulated agents - too many systems! many/most(?) low 'utility' -- not directly related to winning or losing - "butterfly effect" outsized potential outcomes from small inputs
